A Note To My Mother

When I was younger, I don’t think I ever fully appreciated my mother, the time she puts into looking out for me, and always ensuring I’m okay. As the years have passed and I’ve had to deal with some pretty shitty things in my life. No matter what, my mum is always by my side ready to wipe away the tears, make me a cup of tea and cuddle me until I’m okay.

As I have got older, not only do I appreciate my mother a lot more, but I am forever grateful for how much she put up with me when I was an anxious teenager. She has become my best friend, the woman I tell all of my secrets to, the woman I know I can always get an honest answer from and the woman who I know will be there to support me no matter what happens in my life.

I like to think that I show appreciation to my mother all year round. But I want to say thank you, to the everyday little things that may be overlooked. And now that I live alone, an hour away from home. I appreciate you a million times more now and will always wish I said thank you at the time for everything you have done for me. The past 6 months have been an emotional whirlwind in our family, but my mum has been so strong and dealt with everything so well. We are finally coming out of the other side and my mother is definitely stronger than ever!

To Mum,

You are the greatest woman in my life and I look up to you every single day. I hope in the future when I have children that I can aspire to be like you and look out for my children the way that you do! Thank you for the following

- Pairing my socks.
-Wiping away my endless tears when I’m crying for no reason.
- For sitting through the same film a million times when I was younger, despite me usually leaving  and making you watch it alone. (Bend It Like Beckham, Coyote Ugly and many more).
- For always making me a cup of tea when I need it.
- For coming to Cardiff to visit me as often as you can.
For being my biggest fan with everything I want to achieve.
For spending hours cry laughing with me over ridiculous things (My favourite moments.)
- For always taking outfit photos even when I tell you you’re rubbish.
- For supporting me in every decision that I make.

None of these things are overlooked anymore. I promise you! From the bottom of my heart, thank you. You inspire me in so many ways.

I love you Mamma Bear x
